Call
to Order
A general
meeting of the Advisory Neighborhood Commission 4C was held on Wednesday,
September 14, 2011. Commissioner Chair, Joseph
Vaughan called the meeting to order at 6:32 pm in the Community Meeting Room at
Petworth Library, 4200 Kansas Avenue, NW.

Motion by
Commissioner Anthony to adopt the agenda was seconded and passed unanimously by
the Commission with Commissioner Jones opposing.

Reading and approval of August Minutes
A motion by Commissioner
Mandle to adopt the minutes was seconded and passed unanimously by the
Commission.

Mandle & community to discuss at public meeting with DDOT.

Grant Requests
Presentation by
Teatro De Luna, Ms. Walder, Bi Lingual/Spanish Language Workshops.
Motion by Commissioner Anthony to support the grant request was seconded by
Commissioner Martin and passed
unanimously by the Commission.

Cultural Tourism Heritage Trail, Elizabeth Goldberg, advertisement support.
Motion by Commissioner Tumblin to support the grant request for Advertisement support was seconded and passed unanimously by the Commission
New Business
Presentation by
Safeway PUD Application, Community Benefit Package, Commissioner Tumblin. Hearing scheduled for 6:30pm, 441 4th
St., NW, Suite 227.
Letter was sent
to SunTrust Bank requesting the inclusion of SunTrust within Safeway. Negotiating benefit package
to include funding for Petworth & Raymond Recreation Centers.

Roosevelt High School, Tracy Eichelberger.
Graduated 95% of the senior class. September 2013 will enter into a newly
refurbished school. Back

ANC 4C is
continuing protest.
Presentation by
Department of Transportation – Traffic Calming Process, Pedestrian Safety
Issues, Mark G. and Anna Chambers.
The traffic Calming petition requires a majority of signatures from
block residents and the support of the ANC.
Once signatures and support are obtained, DDOT will perform public
traffic studies. Functional
classification maps, defines streets, local, collector, arterial determines who
qualifies for speed humps. DDOT to
convert 100 Webster to one way due to sight distance to turn left onto Rock
Creek Church Road.
Motion by
Commissioner Badalamenti to adjourn the meeting, the
motion was seconded by Commissioner Yates, the motion was passed and the
meeting was adjourned at 8:07 pm.
